'The Book of my Enemy Has Been Remaindered' by...
The book of my enemy has been remaindered And I am pleased. In vast quantities it has been remaindered Like a van-load of counterfeit that has been seized And sits in piles in a police warehouse, My enemy’s much-prized effort sits in piles In the kind of bookshop where remaindering occurs. Great, square stacks of rejected books and, between them, aisles One passes down reflecting on...

“Since 1961, ecologists have been tracking the population of great tits that breed in Wytham Woods, near Oxford, UK.” Also, “The great tits in the UK may be an exception, Visser says.” What I am I, like, 10? Why am I laughing so hard at this? [via: this comment at pharyngula]

Very small house seems large I think the reason I find efficient design so interesting is that is plays on another idea I find fascinating, namely the concept of creativity being driven by constraint. [via:videosift]

– From Michael Shermer’s review of the new book Charlatan, a book that is going on my wish list, mostly due to the titular charlatan’s particular quackery, which was the inserting of goat testes into the scrotums and near the ovaries of humans.

Muxtape / jprickett →
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I have a muxtape, too. The songs are mainly what I have been listening to for the past day or so, inspired by reading a review at the A.V Club of the re-released special edition of the Lemonheads album, It’s a Shame About Ray. Which means you won’t find any of your fancy modern indie rock here. Just stuff that I might have been listening to in the early- to mid-90s....

BSG-tastic!
Hulu has a couple of interesting BSG related shows up right now. The first is Battlestar Galactica: Revealed, which is a great introduction to the show and the characters and the story arcs through the eyes of Executive Producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eike. I can’t really recommend it for getting people who haven’t watched the show up to speed…but, if you have friends...

Audio Players
nostrich: I’m trying to find a service that allows me to upload mp3s and link to them from elsewhere, directly. What I also need to be able to do is use that URL to embed an audio player in a webpage. Ideally, I’d like to find a service that does both in as few clicks as possible. But separate services for each part works too. Ideally, free would be nice. But I’m willing to spend a few dollars...
