“Yeah, well, it’s part of a trilogy, a musical trilogy that I’m doing in D minor, which, I always find is really the saddest of all keys, really, I don’t know why; it makes people weep instantly to play […] You know, just simple lines intertwining, you know, very much like - I’m really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it’s sort of in between those, really. It’s like a Mach piece, really.”

Glamorouswhimsy’s admission that she plays WoW made me wonder… any other Tumblr Warcraft addicts out there besides us?

(Extra nerd points if you can tell me where this picture is from. HINT: “How can you kill that which has no life?”)

I wouldn’t call myself an addict; I can quit any time! I don’t have to get on tonight and solo a few low-level instances looking for blue drops that I can post on the AH trying to attract people looking for twink gear just so I can save up enough g for my epic mount.* But I probably will anyway.

The only problem with starting a guild would be that all of us are likely playing different realms (I am Delthan on Antonidas, for any who are curious) and many people might not be willing to switch to a different server just to join a Tumblr guild.

And as far as the source of the image, all I will say is that you can’t give the Sword of a Thousand Truths to a n00b.

*Go ahead, try and out-nerd that sentence.

caragh:

I am finally doing what I’ve meant to do for the past eight months, (re)watch every episode of lost back to back.

The main reason I have not posted much here this week is because I have been doing the exact same thing. Instead of spending my down time at work desperately trying to keep up with my feeds and the people I follow on Tumblr, I have have been watching Lost from the beginning over at abc.com.

Not because I am not watching the new eps, but because I was never one of those fans who rewatched the previous seasons just prior to each new season’s premiere. But, some of the things happening this season have inspired me to revisit the earlier episodes. I will likely post a longer list of thoughts I had while doing this later in the week.

Tori Amos - Precious Things (live)

A slightly reworked version of the original from Tori’s 1990 1992 debut album.

She introduces the song by saying it’s her most requested song.* I think it’s because everyone likes to hear her sing the line, “So you can make me cum/That doesn’t make you Jesus”.

*Edit: watched this again, and noticed that she was actually referring to the song being the most requested song of the night not necessarily her most requested song of all time. It’s still odd that it wasn’t one of her more supposedly known songs, but not as odd as I originally thought it was.

American Police through Japanese Eyes « sans everything

According to the site, the headline on the top left says, “32 pages jam-packed with America’s heroic and hot-blooded police! Your hands will get hot just turning the pages!”

Lost America: Night Photography of the Abandoned West

Some of the photos in this set look vaguely HDR-esque, but in the True-Tone HDR way, not in the freakish, comic-book-on-acid way that many HDR shots go for.
