I’m deleting my MySpace because the site brings pain to my life.

And then I realized I’ve had no human connection on MySpace except with a couple of people that I could have the same connection with on Facebook or over e-mail and IM? So I’m deleting my profile? And if you delete yours too, blog about it and we’ll all feel like part of a movement, and that will overcome the irrational anguish about deleting an online profile? Yes.

I deleted my MySpace profile a few months ago, opting to go over to Facebook instead as most of my friends were already there (and to heck with the ones who weren’t!).

I couldn’t get to MySpace at work anymore after my IT dept. blocked access and I just got sick of the constant friend requests from girls who were obviously just trying to get me to visit “cam-whore”* or dating sites. Also, even with AdBlock activated I was still getting some of those annoying, flashy, blinky, clicky ads.

After I deleted my account, I actually felt better…and a bit smarter.
